Montgomery is in Alabama, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Montgomery is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Alabama's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

We chose Ross-Clayton Funeral Home for their reputation, but our experience was marked by repeated mistakes and poor communication from start to finish. The worst moment came during our final goodbye to my father before cremation. Instead of a private, dignified setting, we were left standing in a hallway while he was positioned in a partially open doorway β one through which we could see other deceased individuals. No grieving family should have to experience that. That same lack of care and preparation continued into his memorial service, adding unnecessary stress to an already painful day. Families trust funeral homes to handle their loved ones with dignity during unimaginably hard times. That trust was broken here. I would not recommend this funeral home.

Very respectful people, they don't charge an arm and a leg, and all in all made a very difficult time much easier for me. Mrs.Ross was so patient and understanding with me, and walked me through everything I needed to do. She made things so much easier. I am very grateful, and will be using them in the future.

We could not have chosen a better place to help lay our Mom to rest. From inception to the burial site they were amazing. As a family, we knew how we wanted arrangements to go and they executed every desire flawlessly. I was very emotional; yet, their professionalism and compassion brought us much comfort.

My family's has been using the services of Ross & Clayton for more than 40 years. Always warm, professional, caring and loving. The entire staff was very accommodating. They have been a beacon to the community, stepping up helping families that could not bury their love one because they they had NO money or NOT ENOUGH money. The staff at Ross made it happen. It was that kind of love that caused my family to be repeat customers. They've provided their services for about 15 of my family members. Never been disappointed, NOT once. I was filled with happiness when they finally expended their facility. They had outgrown their old facility. It was a testament that when your do right, face your mistakes when they occur, treat people with dignity and respect, remembering people are grieving and they need your compassion, patience and understanding, you will do well and be blessed.
